Privacy
Short, because there is not much to tell. We sell a product that runs on your own machine, so there is very little about you for us to hold in the first place.
We count. We do not follow you
Two things measure anything on this site, and both of them are counting rather than watching.
- Page views, site-wide. Vercel Web Analytics counts which pages get read. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The identifier it uses to avoid counting you twice is worked out from your request rather than kept on your device, and it is rebuilt from scratch daily, so it cannot recognise you tomorrow.
- Page opens and three form events. We send PostHog an anonymous count when any page is opened, and when a form is submitted on the vote page, the builds library or the guide page. Each one carries a random id made fresh on every page load and held only in memory, so two visits by you are two strangers to us - and so we cannot join your pages together into a trail. The web address we send is stripped back to the page itself, which means the reference code in an email link never reaches it. The guide form sends no email address.
That is the complete list. No advertising cookies. No session recording, so nobody is watching your mouse move. No automatic capture of every click. No third-party scripts reading what you read, no ad network, no data broker. None of it has ever been sold or shared, and none of it can be tied back to you as a person.
Two things are stored in your own browser and never sent anywhere: whether you last used the site in window mode or page mode, and your high score if you played the arcade. Clearing your browser data deletes both.
What we hold if you buy CapshoHQ
Buying is the only point at which we learn anything about you. When you pay, we store:
- Your email address, so we can send your key and reach you about your purchase.
- Your licence key, and the date it was created.
- Payment references from Stripe - the customer, checkout and payment identifiers, the amount, and the currency. These let us match a payment to a key and handle a refund.
- When you downloaded the files. Kept for 30 days, then dropped automatically.
- Whether the key has been revoked, and why.
That is the whole list. We do not ask for your address, your phone number, your company size or anything else, because we do not need them.
The product itself sends us nothing
CapshoHQ installs onto your computer. Your business notes, your files and your work stay in folders on your own disk. There is no Capsho account, no sync, no server we can look at. We cannot see what you use it for, and there is no setting that would let us.
One thing you should know, because it would be misleading to leave out: CapshoHQ runs inside Claude Code, which is Anthropic's software, and Claude Code sends what you type to Anthropic in order to answer. That happens under your own agreement with Anthropic, on your own subscription, exactly as it did before you installed anything of ours. We are not in the middle of it and we receive no copy of it.
Who else touches your data
Five companies, each doing one job, each bound by their own terms:
- Stripe - takes the payment and holds the card details.
- Supabase - the database holding the records in section 2, and the private storage the download comes from.
- Resend - sends your purchase email.
- Brevo - holds our email list, if you are on it.
- PostHog - receives the anonymous page and form counts described in section 1. No name, no email, nothing that identifies you.
- Vercel - hosts this website, keeps ordinary server logs, and runs the cookieless page-view counting described in section 1.
Every marketing email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe, and it works immediately. We do not sell, rent, or trade your details to anybody, for any amount, ever. There is no version of our business where that becomes tempting.
These providers are based in the United States, so your details are handled there.
How long we keep it
Purchase records are kept while you own the product, because they are what proves you own it and what lets us re-issue a key if you lose it. Download timestamps drop off after 30 days. Payment records are kept as long as our tax and accounting obligations require, which is longer than we would otherwise choose.
What you can ask for
Email hi@capsho.com and ask us to:
- Tell you everything we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your records. Note that deleting your purchase record ends your ability to re-download or get a new key, so we will say so before we do it.
- Stop emailing you.
We will do it within 30 days, and usually within two. You do not need to give a reason and you do not need to be polite about it.
Children
This is a business tool sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will change the date at the top and email anyone who has bought from us. We will not quietly widen what we collect and hope nobody re-reads it.
Capsho LLC, registered in Austin, Texas and run from Portland, Oregon, is the business responsible for the data described here. Our terms cover what you are buying and how refunds work.
