How Bec markets her podcast on 5 platforms in 83% less time

Meet Bec Chappell.

Branding Gatekeeper. Effervescent Whiteboarder. Podcasting Entrepreneur

Bec Chappell is a Marketing Strategist & Coach, Speaker and Host of the Marketing Espresso podcast.

As the time suck of creating her written marketing copy was the biggest hurdle Bec faced when trying to be consistent with her podcast marketing, Bec knew Capsho would be a life changer IF it did what it said it would.

Capsho proved itself to Bec and using it has helped her transform from the reactive podcaster with erratic, inconsistent marketing to the confident podcasting entrepreneur who went on a 3-week holiday with ALL of her promotional content pre-scheduled.

Creating her podcast promotion content takes only 17% of the time it used to, and she is now promoting on 5 different channels which has led to the consistent download growth Bec was looking for with her podcast.

What would have taken me easility me an hour to do for each episode - show notes, a LinkedIn article, a blog post, an email to go with it - is now just a 10minute process.

And I have 2 episodes going out a week. It’s dramatic to say, but it’s changed my life.

Bec’s Podcasting Story

Bec started Marketing Espresso because she wanted to be recognized as a marketing thought leader but in a way that gives her ideal clients value before they even became a client.

Podcasting gave her the platform to grow her brand identity by sharing an easily digestible, quality shot of helpful marketing advice with her audience.

The biggest challenge for Bec when it came to growing her podcast was TIME.

Between:

  • Planning her content for the podcast

  • Finding guests

  • Batch-recording episodes

  • Writing show notes

  • Repurposing the goldmine of content from publishing 2 episodes a week

ALL while working daily with clients and hosting strategy days…

Bec was struggling to grow Marketing Espresso and give it the audience it deserved.

When Bec met Capsho

Bec first heard about Capsho when interviewing Capsho CEO & Co-Founder (and fellow Australian!), Deirdre Tshien, as a guest on Marketing Espresso.

Bec saw immediate value after using her free Capsho trial and after becoming a regular user, she transformed from being the “plumber with the leaky pipes” (i.e. the podcaster with erratic, inconsistent marketing) to being able to go on 3 weeks holiday with ALL of her promotional content scheduled ahead of time.

“Even when Capsho doesn’t give you the exact thing you’re going to publish, it gives you thought bubbles. And sometimes that’s all you need because, in our own business, we can get uninspired.”

Aside from the obvious time saving, Bec also unlocked creative bandwidth she didn’t know she had.

No longer consumed with doing half-hearted, reactive promotion day by day, she now has the time and space to plan and has “reel ideas coming out of her… butt”.

As someone who “loves talking” and struggles with being succinct, Bec’s favorite thing about Capsho is that it writes her marketing copy with her audience in mind.

It also helps her repurpose her content in a way that doesn’t feel repetitive.

“Capsho makes the content really digestible for the reader.

It uses the transcript of your podcast but it’s so well changed that someone who is reading your show notes or blog post could read it all and also listen to your podcast without feeling like they are being bombarded by the exact same content.”

“Week on week, my episode downloads would fluctuate.

This is because I was promoting sporadically and some weeks I would get a bunch of downloads from people who were binge-listening and then other weeks it would almost halve.

Now I have a steady stream of NEW listeners and my episode downloads are increasing in a consistent way.”

Bec finally has a strategy and process to promote authentically and consistently via email and on LinkedIn (her primary platforms) which has helped get her results of consistent podcast growth.

“Finally, I have emails going out weekly to tell my list about my podcast and they are making a massive difference. I even got feedback from one subscriber about how fun a recent email was. I thanked her and told her I wrote it myself 😉”

When Bec joined the Capsho community, she half-joked that Capsho has changed her life.

Aussie humor aside, Bec’s story is a testament to the fact that even as marketing experts, we don’t always have the resources to apply that expertise to our podcast and can stay stuck with stagnating growth.

Capsho has helped Bec make a crucial identity shift as a podcast host, and given her the tools to get unstuck and on track to exponential podcast growth

I’m no longer the plumber with the leaky pipes.

As someone who teaches other people how to do marketing, I’ve finally become a good marketer when it comes to promoting my podcast.
